If you can’t get pregnant, they say, then you don’t get an opinion on whether or not abortion is wrong.
Trotting out the Toddler
This is another great opportunity to trot out the toddler (or pet, or any other moral issue). There are, after all, hundreds of cases where we actually expect people get involved in moral situations, even if we have no personal experience ourselves.
Q: No uterus, no opinion!
A: Do you have children?
Q: No.
A: Me neither. What would you do if you saw someone verbally or physically abusing their child?
Q: I’d step in!
A: Of course, and you should! If someone is hurting their child, you absolutely should step in! But why? You don’t have a child. What right do you have to step in?
Q: Well, they’re hurting someone.
A: Yes, exactly. And if someone is getting hurt, then we have an obligation to intervene, even if we aren’t directly involved.

Yeah, but that’s different, because the two year old is an actual person…
Yep, you’ll probably run into this one again.
Q: I can’t believe you would compare those two! They’re totally different!
A: Why are they different?
Q: Because the child is an actual person!

(If you started with Human Rights 101, then they probably won’t argue that the two year old is a person but the preborn child is not—since you already established the humanity of the preborn child)
