Hear from the students:
"I started doing activism about a month ago, after I had done some training with Olivia. I was nervous to go out in the world and start speaking out about a controversial subject, but after my first day conversing with students I realized the importance of speaking up for those who don't have a voice. The training beforehand really helped, and having Olivia by my side every time I go out to do activism is extremely helpful as well. She supports me in so many ways and constantly encourages me to keep fighting for the unborn. Anytime I feel a little unconfident or like the work I was doing didn't matter, she is there to lift me back up and that is something I am so grateful for. I look forward to continuing this work as there is still a lot to be done."

I spoke with someone who was emotionally attached to the topic [of abortion] since she was born when her mother was 17. She doesn’t think abortion should be performed in third trimester or as form of birth control. Although she came up to us very defensive, she left very calm and appreciative of a civil conversation.

I met a student from India during activism on campus. Originally he said that abortion is sometimes needed in poor families like in India. I pointed at Ruth Shaw down the hallway, and said that she was adopted from India and that exact situation. I asked if he still thought abortion was good and he looked embarrassed, saying: "no, you're right. Killing a person is never ok". He wanted to come to our discussion group and was very supportive of us talking about abortion here.
He was shocked that abortion is legal here in Canada and agreed that that was a problem. He correctly guessed that 100000 abortions happen annually, but was shocked when I stated that this was 3000 classrooms of students missing from our schools every year.

“I participated in the NCLN pro life boot camp. I found it incredibly refreshing to talk to other like-minded pro life people- exchange ideas, plans, and stories. The boot camp was extremely helpful to help me get on my feet and prepared for my first year leading the pro life club at trinity. The boot camp helped me understand the behind-the-scenes structure and organization of pro life events and activism. It also refreshed me to activism techniques, and introduced me to the new activism campaign "Some Choices Kill".”

Are you a pro life student heading into university? We want to welcome you to the NCLN Student Network! Fill out this form to get connected to other pro life students in your campus area!
We know how urgently important it is to be actively pro life on campus—but, we also know how difficult it can be when the rest of society believes abortion is a ‘woman’s right’. Our network exists to connect young pro life leaders with each other, and train and empower them to change our culture through campus activism and serving their local communities.
We are at the cusp of an incredible new era in Canada, where young leaders are being equipped with the skills to create a loving, life-honouring, and dignifying culture. There has never been a better opportunity to get involved!
